| Special exhibits on seasonal themes are held
here four times a year. Seasonal toys include the kites, tops, and hagoita
(battledore and shuttlecock) associated with the New Year holiday, festival
toys, miniature toys, toys in the shape of birds and animals, chirimen (silk
crepe) pouches, and such. Kites from around Japan are displayed on the ceiling
and upper wall space. The gigantic kite painted with a demon's face that hangs
from the ceiling is from Mishima, Yamaguchi
prefecture. |
